(Exodus 13:21; 14:19-20) Those must have been reassuring signs to the people that their God was present with them and actively intervening to lead them through the wilderness. God Himself was in the Fire and the Cloud, which He produced supernaturally. He chose to communicate with His people in a very powerful and dynamic way.
